Growing up in Huntington Beach, California, Gayle Dawn developed a wonderful sense for capturing life at its best. She is blessed with a gifted eye and has a fun, relaxed approach when working with her clients both young and old (Gayle has a background as a elementary education teacher and is especially good at working with children). Gayle loves photographing life’s special gifts — weddings and engagements, parties, graduations, expectant mommies, babies, children, teens, and families. Additionally, she is skilled with professional headshots that get her clients noticed. Gayle enjoys shooting on location as well as in her studio.
The Orange Public Library selected Gayle to provide the photography for their promotional campaign as well as the library foundation’s annual gala event. California State University Long Beach Business School featured her work on the cover and throughout their promotional catalog. The Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce commissioned Gayle to take the portraits of its newly-elected board members. Samy’s Camera recognized Gayle with their top award for Best Image Conveying Emotion.
Gayle has a keen eye in her digital photo finishing, carefully retouching each image so every client appears to be having their best day ever. She is trained in Adobe Photoshop and works her magic to erase blemishes and soften signs of aging. Her clients rave about how much fun their portrait session was and how much they love their pictures. As a result, almost all of Gayle’s new clients come from referrals.
Gayle loves to travel and is always looking for opportunities to photograph the world around her, whether it’s right in her own backyard or half way around the globe. She’s even been hired for family photo shoots while on vacation in New Orleans and Paris, France!
